Vietnam celebrates 72 years of August Revolution
Vietnam is celebrating the 72nd anniversary of the August Revolution with scores of events.
The 1945 August Revolution is vivid evidence of the wise and ingenious leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh.
Spectacular art performances are organized around Hanoi and many other localities to commemorate the general uprising on August 19, 1945, which overthrew the feudal and colonial regimes and ushered in a new era of independence and freedom for the Vietnamese people.
The Nhan Dan (People) newspaper wrote that the lessons of the August Revolution 72 years ago have remained relevant to Vietnam’s national development process, particularly in building a national unity bloc.
The Quan Doi Nhan dan (People’s Army) newspaper called on the entire Party, people and army to contribute more to Party building and rectification efforts.
