Vietnam rotates military doctors to UN mission in South Sudan

63 military doctors will go to South Sudan
The ceremony was held in Hanoi and led by Deputy Minister of Defence Nguyen Chi Vinh. Representatives of many departments and embassies also attended the ceremony.
Colonel Nguyen Nhu Canh, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, said 63 doctors had been trained following the United Nations standards. Many doctors had attended training courses in the UK, Australia, Japan, South Korea, China and France.
They were trained in air emergency drills as well as how to prevent outbreaks in South Sudan.
At the ceremony, Vinh emphasised the Hippocratic oath and asked the doctors to strictly follow the country's laws and the rules of the United Nations while carrying out their mission.
Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Hien, director of Level-2 Field Hospital 2 said they were fully prepared and ready to replace the Level-2 Field Hospital 2 in the UN mission in South Sudan. They are confident that they wouldbe able to quickly understand the situation and take over the work after arriving in Bentiu.
