Vietnam - Russia: Solid Foundation for Advancing Cooperation in New Era

At the event, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam, Gennady Bezdetko, emphasized that despite global uncertainties, Vietnam-Russia relations continue to grow steadily.

Speaking at the seminar, Dr. Phan Chi Hieu, president of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, reaffirmed that Vietnam always attaches great importance to strengthening and developing its friendship with Russia. Over the past 75 years, this relationship has been continuously nurtured, evolving into a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership built on political trust and sincere ties between the two peoples.
Cooperation between the two countries has yielded significant results across diplomacy, defense, security, economy, trade, culture, and education. In particular, people-to-people and cultural exchanges have developed actively, enhancing mutual understanding. In the field of education, Russia remains one of Vietnam’s leading partners in training high-quality human resources. Many Vietnamese alumni who studied in Russia now hold key positions in various sectors across Vietnam.
Ambassador Gennady Bezdetko further highlighted that political dialogue between the two countries' leaders takes place regularly and substantively, providing a solid foundation for advancing cooperation in the new phase.

In 2025, the two sides are expected to convene the next session of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Trade, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation. Their close relationship and wealth of collaborative experience enable the two nations to promptly address challenges and push forward joint initiatives.
Moreover, sustained cooperation between leading research institutes and universities of both countries continues to play a vital role. It serves as a platform for experts to jointly implement scientific research projects, making practical contributions to the sustainable development of both nations.
The seminar also served as a forum for experts and scholars to discuss, share experiences, and propose solutions to further strengthen cooperation in the time ahead.
Within the framework of the seminar, several practical presentations were delivered, covering topics such as prospects for Vietnam-Russia cooperation in digital economic development and historical perspectives on Vietnam-Russia relations, offering diverse insights and opening new avenues for future collaboration.
