25,000 Vietnamese people die of liver cancer annually
The high cancer death rate is attributable to alcohol consumption, environmental pollution and food contamination. In addition to cirrhosis and liver cancer, medical experts are fretting about bile disease amongst people posing a challenge to the health sector.
Participants exchanged progress and experiences in the field of liver transplantation particularly and organ transplantation generally as well as applications of endoscopy and robotically-assisted surgeries for treatment of liver cancer and bile diseases.
Participants also updated advanced techniques which Vietnamese physicians and their peers in the world have employed in order to create an opportunity for physicians to realize the progress of the health sector.
As a part of the seminar, the organizer announced that the Vietnamese Society of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery (VSHBPS) has become members of the International Hepato-Pancreato Biliary Association (IHPBA) and the Asian-Pacific Hepato-Pancreato-Billiary Association (A-PHPBA).
Moreover, the steering board of the Liver and Bile Association in the central – highlands regions was presented to the seminar plus the launch of the portal of the Vietnam Liver and Bile Association and the Vietnamese Society of Hepato Billiary Pancreatic Surgery and gave gifts to benefactors and international guests.
On the same day, bile leading experts performed minimally invasive interventional surgeries for cancer patients to train young physicians.
