Annual ASEAN Bazaar in Indonesia
As one of the annual activities supported by the ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN Women's Club (AWC) on October 28th opened its ASEAN Bazaar in Jakarta.
In the opening speech, Ms. Ugi Pramono, Head of AWC, stressed that the bazaar is one of the activities to contribute to emotional cohesion, enhance mutual understanding among women in particular and people in ASEAN countries in general in the context of the ASEAN Community will be formed in the end of the year.
She also thanked the ASEAN Secretariat for their support and assistance in strengthening exchanges, cultural exchanges and cooperation among the countries, in which women are considered as positive factors.
The bazaar takes place on October 28th - 29th with the participation of the ASEAN member countries and partner countries: Japan, the Republic of Korea, India and China.
The booths focus on display and introduction of traditional products and unique cuisine of nations.
On this occasion, AWC also organized raise charity fund to support the poor and disadvantaged children.
AWC is a social organization founded on August 8th, 1975, with 250 members, who are women of ASEAN countries operating in the field of diplomacy.
The operational target of AWC is to strengthen regional solidarity and cooperation among member countries through social and cultural activities./.
