Speaking at the event, Consul General Trinh Thi Mai Phuong emphasized the special role of the Vietnamese language in preserving national identity among children born and raised overseas. According to her, children’s enthusiasm for learning Vietnamese, their confidence in using the language, and their active participation in cultural activities are encouraging signs that reflect the effective cooperation of families, schools, and community organizations. She stated that the Consulate General would continue to support community initiatives aimed at nurturing a young generation that is both well integrated into international society and deeply connected to its Vietnamese cultural roots.

Nguyen Duy Anh, Secretary General of the Global Network for Vietnamese Language and Culture Education, said that teaching and learning Vietnamese abroad is not only an educational mission but also a responsibility to preserve national cultural identity. He noted that the community model in Kyushu-where diplomatic representatives, community organizations, teachers, parents, and children all participate - has been creating a sustainable ecosystem for the Vietnamese language. According to him, “every family is a classroom, every teacher is a keeper of the flame,” and it is the children’s love for the Vietnamese language that will ultimately ensure the long-term preservation of Vietnamese identity far from the homeland.

From the perspective of the local community, Hoang Xuan Dung, President of the Association of Vietnamese in Fukuoka (AVF), affirmed that maintaining Vietnamese language proficiency among younger generations has always been one of the association’s key priorities. AVF has been working closely with community groups, teachers, and parents to sustain Vietnamese language classes, organize cultural activities, and create opportunities for children to use Vietnamese regularly. He expressed his hope that the children would not only be able to speak Vietnamese but also understand the nation’s history and culture and take pride in their heritage.

During the program, the organizers honored organizations, families, and children who had made significant contributions to preserving and promoting the Vietnamese language and Vietnamese cultural values in recent years. The event concluded with celebratory activities marking International Children's Day.
