Vietnamese Youth Forum in Japan: Aspirations in New Era

On August 9, at the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka, the General Association of Vietnamese in the Kansai region, in collaboration with the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association in Japan (VYSA), organized the first Vietnamese Youth Forum in Japan, themed "Vietnamese Youth in Japan - Aspirations in the New Era".

The forum was attended by almost 200 delegates, including students, young entrepreneurs, intellectuals, and representatives of Vietnamese associations across Japan, as well as 10 youth delegates from Vietnam.

According to Nhan Dan newspaper, in her opening remark, Le Thuong, Head of the Organizing Committee, President of the General Association of Vietnamese in the Kansai region emphasized: "The forum not only offers a gathering place, but also serves as the platform to stimulate the rising aspiration and affirm the identity and responsibility of Vietnamese youth in Japan in the international integration process".

At the forum, Nguyen Hai Yen, Head of Foreign Affairs, Economy, and Culture at the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka, stated the role of young people in promoting the national image. She stressed that young generations are cultural ambassadors, a bridge of friendship between the Vietnamese and Japanese peoples.

On behalf of the Vietnamese delegation to the forum, Nguyen Kim Quy, Member of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, expressed his desire to expand connections and long-term companionship with Vietnamese youth abroad. "We believe that the young generation of overseas Vietnamese is a significant force in the process of constructing a strong nation," said Quy.

The forum consists of two panel discussions covering the topics of "Vietnamese Language Preservation" and "Integration and Aspirations". Through discussions, seminars, and meaningful exchange activities with speakers, the forum offers opportunities for young Vietnamese people in Japan to raise questions, share aspirations, and propose initiatives to jointly build a vision to develop the Vietnamese youth community in Japan in the new context.

The Vietnam Youth Forum in Japan is an opportunity to honor national cultural values, reflect on the efforts to teach and promote the Vietnamese language within the Vietnamese community in Japan, strengthen scientific and technological cooperation, and convey the spirit of a young generation of Vietnamese who are courageous, globally integrated, and filled with aspirations to rise and thrive.

The theme, "Aspiration in the New Era," highlights the pioneering mindset, creativity, and social responsibility of Vietnamese youth living in Japan.
