Anti-terrorism exercise held during police competition in Vietnam
Organized by the Ministry of Public Security, which oversees Vietnam's police force, and the Dak Lak police department, the competition takes place in the provincial capital of Buon Ma Thuot on August 26 and 27.
The event is joined by over 600 police officers from Ho Chi Minh City and seven provinces in the central, southern, and Central Highlands regions.
The competition started with an anti-terrorism drill, whose scenario involved a group of armed terrorists attacking a village and holding dozens of residents hostage.
Police officers first attempted to persuade the terrorists to give in and free the hostages but they eventually had to carry out a direct attack after the thugs started hurting the victims.
A martial art and shooting competition were also organized at the event, creating an opportunity for the participants to showcase their shooting skills and captivating martial art performances.
