(VNF) - Vietnam Embassy in Oslo, Norway, together with the Embassies of Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines and Thailand jointly organized the ASEAN Cultural Night 2016 on the occasion of ASEAN's 49^th founding anniversary, with an aim to promote and raise awareness about the ASEAN Community.

The event was held with a reception serving in national dishes and followed by cultural performances from each member country.

250 guests from the government, diplomatic delegations, business, cultural - society organizations and local communities in Oslo, with representatives of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the event.

Vietnamese dance groups presented a dance “Chieu lên Ban Thuong” from the Central Highlands and solo zither performance with two folk songs “Ly hoai xuan” and “Ly tinh tang”.

Dances and ethnic music performances of Vietnam in ASEAN Culture Night in Oslo this year presented by representatives of young people in the Vietnamese community in Norway, has contributed to introduce and encourage the maintenance culture of the Vietnamese community in Norway.

The organization of the ASEAN Cultural Night is one of the cultural diplomatic activities of the Embassy of Vietnam in Norway in order to actively promote the culture of Vietnam, attracted more attention of the Norwegian and international friends to Vietnam’s tourism and culture./.
