ASEAN culture promoted in central Vietnam
(VNF) - Over 200 photos and almost 500 documentaries highlighting the cultural identity and traditions of Southeast Asian nations are on display in a central Vietnamese province.
The exhibition, which is running from Tuesday until Friday at Quang Binh General Museum, located at Hung Vuong street in Dong Hoi City, the heart of Quang Binh Province, also accentuates regional efforts to protect the environment and promote adaptation to climate change.
On display are works which claimed prizes at local and regional competitions in 2010 and 2013, along with stamp collections from the ASEAN countries.

The Tuesday opening ceremony were partaken by Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Truong Minh Tuan, and Thai Vice Ambassador to Vietnam Wanthanee Viputwongsakul.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Tuan said the event helps promote the persity of regional cultures, peoples and their lifestyles, thus bridging the gaps to form one common identity.
It also encourages Vietnamese people to join regional concerted efforts in building the ASEAN bloc as the community of peace, stability and development while raising their awareness of the establishment of the ASEAN community by the end of this year, Tuan noted.
He also handed over a certificate of merit and the collection of photos and documentaries to local authorities.
Nguyen Xuan Quang, Vice Chairman of Quang Binh Province People’s Committee, said the photos and documentaries are to be introduced to local soldiers and residents to offer them insights into the ASEAN bloc’s charms and traditions.
Quang Binh is among the two Vietnamese provinces to be venue to the event./.
