Vietnam - US Society Celebrates 30 Years Of Vietnam - US Relations

The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) and the Viet Nam - USA Society will jointly organize the Celebration of the 80th Anniversary from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on October 16, 2025, at the Ho Guom Opera House, Hanoi.

The event is expected to be attended by representatives of the Party and State leadership, leaders of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, ministries, agencies, the Viet Nam - USA Society, research institutes, and universities. On the US side, the event is anticipated to welcome representatives from American businesses, associations, and non-governmental organizations operating in Viet Nam, as well as US organizations and individuals that are partners of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Viet Nam - USA Society.

The celebration is part of a series of activities marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Viet Nam - US diplomatic relations. It contributes to the efforts of the State diplomacy in consistently implementing Viet Nam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation, and development, as well as the multilateralization and diversification of external relations. The event reaffirms Viet Nam’s policies and viewpoints on advancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace, Cooperation, and Sustainable Development with the United States, thereby making a practical contribution to Viet Nam’s development goals in the new era - the era of national rise.

The occasion also provides an opportunity for members, partners, and individuals interested in Viet Nam - US people-to-people exchanges to meet, reflect on history, review achievements in bilateral relations, and exchange ideas to further enhance the effectiveness and role of the Viet Nam - USA Society in particular and the people-to-people diplomacy channel between the two countries in general, thus contributing to the continued growth of the bilateral relationship in the future.

At the celebration, the audience will enjoy a special concert titled “Connecting Viet Nam - US Melodies”, featuring renowned artists from both countries with a carefully curated repertoire. This will be an occasion for Vietnamese audiences to enjoy a performance by the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra under the baton of international conductor Henry Cheng, with the participation of pianist Maxim Lando, divo Tung Duong, artists Mikaela Ayira and Duong Duc Hai, clarinetist Tran Khanh Quang, among others.
