The Party Politburo held a working session with the Central Military Party Committee on August 12th to discuss preparations for the 10th Military Party Congress for the 2015-2020 term.

In his speech, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said the congress should focus on improving the fighting capacity and leadership of the Party committee, building a revolutionary people’s army, foiling subversive plots by hostile forces, and maintaining a peaceful, stable environment for national construction and defense.
He also underlined the need to forge military external relations, combat corruption and wastefulness and develop a socialist-oriented market economy./.
