Attending the meeting were Politburo member, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) and Chairman of the Central Theory Council Nguyen Xuan Thang, Ambassador of Vietnam to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Parliamentarians' Group, representatives of branches and members of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association.

Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Xuan Thang said that the Vietnamese Party, State, and people are always grateful for the great support and help of the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation for Vietnam during the struggle for national independence and reunification as well as in the present day national construction and defense.

He emphasized the need to cherish, preserve and deepen the faithful and transparent friendship between Vietnam and Russia.

He expressed his belief that the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association will continue to work closely with the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association and other people's organizations of the two countries.

This is to promote the role of a bridge of friendship, contributing to bringing the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to new heights. It brings practical benefits to the two peoples, contributing to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.

He congratulated the achievements of the Vietnamese people in national construction and development.

Affirming that the traditional relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation does not depend on the changes of the times, Medvedev appreciated the valuable contributions of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association and its members.

He emphasized the important role of friendship organizations of the two countries in consolidating and developing Vietnam-Russia relations.

Those activities focus on the participation of young people so that the young generations of the two countries continue the tradition of their fathers, strengthen the friendship between the two peoples, and deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Delegates representing those who studied and worked in Russia and young members of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association shared their deep memories with the people and country of Russia.

They expressed their feelings about the long-standing traditional friendship between the two countries and affirmed that they will continue to make efforts to preserve and cultivate the friendship between the two peoples, creating a solid foundation for Vietnam-Russia relations.
