During the hearing at the Taiwan Legislature on November 4, Yen Teh-fa said the airspace that Chinese military aircraft have entered recently belongs to the north of ADIZ which China plans to form in Bien Dong Sea (South China Sea).
Since the beginning of this year, a total of 276 Chinese military airplanes have been spotted to come out in the airspace between southwestern Taiwan and Pratas Islands, Yen Teh-fa said, adding that it seems that China means to "formalize" the operation of military aircraft in this area to establish ADIZ.
Other China’s actions concerning its plan to establish ADIZ in Bien Dong Sea (South China Sea) include militarizing artificial islands illegally built and setting up two administrative districts on Vietnam’s Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes.
Previously, on May 31, South China Morning Post (SCMP) cited a Chinese military insider as revealing that Beijing plans to constitute ADIZ in Bien Dong Sea since 2010 and is waiting for the right time to announce it. Accordingly, the proposed ADIZ will encompass Pratas islands as well as Vietnam's Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes.
