With “FutureScape”, the conference aimed at building a comprehensive picture of the future. In that, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, digital twins, large language models, Living Labs, and encompassed design are connected with the social sciences, humanities, and arts to address increasingly complex challenges of society, businesses and the environment.

According to the President of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Associate Professor, Dr Bui Quang Hung, RTD is an interdisciplinary scientific forum bringing together researchers, experts, businesses, state management agencies, lecturers, and students to share knowledge, foster cooperation, and develop innovative solutions for sustainable development.

Alongside academic activities, RTD also introduced outstanding products, models and solutions from businesses, universities, research institutes, lecturers, scientists, and students, thereby strengthening the connection between research and practice.

The conference examined recent urgent problems, such as the use of AI-integrated marine robots for smart coastal cities, with the system developed from more than 6,530 pairs of underwater images and is capable of reconstructing three-dimensional spaces and identifying objects with an accuracy rate of 90.4%.

This application has opened potential uses in marine environmental monitoring, coastal infrastructure surveillance, aquaculture, ecosystem conservation, and natural disaster warning.

The conference also focused on discussing interdisciplinary Net Zero transition strategies, connecting technology, energy, the environment, urban planning, and policy; creating and interacting with three-dimensional spaces with large language models…

Running from July 15 to 20, with around 140 academic, application-oriented, exhibition, and networking activities, RTD 2026 has attracted more than 80 researchers and experts from over 30 universities, research institutes, and businesses in Vietnam and abroad.

RTD 2026 is expected to provide participants with in-depth knowledge, updates on the latest trends, and multidimensional perspectives on technology and design.
