Couple Tien Minh-Vu Thi Trang play at Canadian Open Badminton Tour
(VNF) - Nguyen Tien Minh and Vu Thi Trang, the two premier Vietnamese badminton players, on June 28th began their journey at Canadian Open Badminton Tour, an international event held in Canada since 1957.
Female Vietnamese player Vu Thi Trang will face a big name L. Sarosi in the first round.
This is the last tour for couple Tien Minh - Vu Thi Trang on the threshold of the upcoming Olympics 2016 in Brazil.
Nguyen Tien Minh was seeded 5th for the race, and has automatically qualified in the first round of the men’s single category. In the second round, his rival is the winner of the game between H. Dani (India) - T. Chiu (Canada). The top seed position belongs to Indian player A.Jayaram.
While, Tien Minh’s teammate did not seed at the women’s single category. The Bac Giang province-origin girl is to compete with the 70th world ranking Laura Sarosi from Hungary. It is a real challenge for her, as Laura Sarosi has demonstrated stable performance during 2016, mostly placing top 10 in the single’s categories.
In the latest world rankings of the World Badminton Federation, Nguyen Tien Minh (33) places 31st in the men’s single category, while Vu Thi Trang (24) is at the 40th position.
After this tour, the two players plan to attend the US Open Tour, then undergo a two-month training course in Japan./.
