Da Nang city continues assistance for Laos’ Sekong province
Vietnam’s Da Nang city and Laos’ Sekong province have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the Vietnamese city’s continued assistance worth nearly VND23 billion for development in the Lao province in the 2018-2020 period.
The Vietnamese city and Lao provincial leaders exchange the signed MoU for cooperation between 2018 and 2022.

Accordingly, the assistance will focus on providing scholarships for cadres, upgrading schools, teaching the Vietnamese language, installing computers for schools, supporting the Lao provincial cadres to gain experience in Da Nang city, and carrying out social welfare work.
The MoU signing took place during the visit to Laos by Nguyen Xuan Anh, Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the Da Nang provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the city People’s Council, on October 24th.
In the 2013-2017 period, each year Da Nang city provides 5 university scholarships and 4 post-graduate scholarships to Sekong province, and assists capital for the building of the Vietnam – Lao friendship school. The total assistance coming from Da Nang city to Sekong province is nearly VND15 billion for this period.
Earlier, the Da Nang delegation visited and presented 7 computers to the Sekong provincial Administration and Politics School, whose building was supported by Da Nang city with VND10 billion; and visited and presented 21 sets of computers to the Laos – Vietnam Friendship School, whose building was supported with USD50,000./.
