On July 14 in Da Nang City, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Chile in Vietnam, hosted a ceremony and reception to commemorate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Chile.

Chile possesses strengths that align with Da Nang’s development orientation

According to Nhan Dan newspaper, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, stated at the ceremony that the Vietnam - Chile Comprehensive Partnership, established in 2007, has laid an important foundation for promoting cooperation between the two countries across multiple fields.

Political relations continue to be reinforced through high-level delegation exchanges and responsible collaboration in addressing contemporary challenges at major international forums.

According to Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vietnam and Chile have much room for cooperation in the fields of green economy, digital transformation, clean energy, renewable energy, mineral exploitation, innovation, trade, investment, logistics, high-tech agriculture and food, technology, and cultural exchange.

Further deepening the Vietnam-Chile Comprehensive Partnership will bring practical benefits to each country, while contributing to strengthening connectivity between Southeast Asia and Latin America.

The leaders of Da Nang stated that, according to the planning orientation until 2050, with a vision to 2075, the city aims to become a smart city, an ecological city, and an international financial, logistics, and free trade center.

Da Nang is accelerating the process of international integration, expanding friendly relations and cooperation with foreign partners in areas consistent with the city's development orientation.

She emphasized that Chile is one of the priority partners, possessing great potential and strengths that align with Da Nang's development needs.

The Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee requested that the Chilean Embassy, ​​trade promotion agencies, and Chilean businesses in Vietnam continue to act as a bridge, promoting friendly relations and cooperation between Da Nang and localities, organizations, and businesses in Chile.

Strengthen business connections and people-to-people exchanges

Chile Ambassador to Vietnam Nasly Isabel Bernal Prado expressed confidence that, building on the friendship cultivated over the past 55 years, the Chile-Vietnam relationship will continue to develop deeply, bringing practical benefits to the people of both countries, while strengthening connections between Latin America and Southeast Asia.

The Ambassador expressed his hope that the friendship between the people of the two countries would continue to be strengthened, creating a foundation for future generations to promote the dynamic and effective development of bilateral relations.

According to VNA, within the framework of the program, representatives from the Chilean Trade Promotion Agency and the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry, Central-Western Highlands Branch, exchanged views on the potential for cooperation between businesses in the Central-Western Highlands region and Chilean partners.

Delegates were provided with information on the investment environment, trade cooperation opportunities, and areas where the two sides can strengthen connections in the future.

The program also featured a photo exhibition on the 55-year journey of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Chile, including documents and images of high-level visits and cooperation activities in the fields of economics, trade, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

The exhibition area showcasing typical products and introducing the tourism potential of Vietnam and Chile contributes to promoting the strengths of each country and creating more opportunities for connection between businesses from both sides.
