(VNF) - One day after Vietnam recorded a historical victory in the quarter finals of the AFC Futsal Championship, FIFA sent a message of congratulations to Vietnam’s national futsal squad.

FIFA cheers Vietnam on ticket to Futsal World Cup 2016
In his letter, Mr Colin Smith, FIFA's Director of Competition, congratulated the nation for the record, delivering his warmest welcoming message to the national squad to Colombia for this September.

“This was a historical moment for Vietnam’s futsal national squad. It helps the country earn an official berth at the Futsal World Cup 2016. We kindly cheered head coach Bruno Formoso for the victory”.

Next month, FIFA (a 209 member-Association governed by Swiss law founded in 1904 and based in Zurich) should announce related information for the tour, and in April, a detailed plan for the Futsal World Cup 2016 finals draw ceremony.

In Vietnam, many supporters also took to social networks to express their joy following Vietnam’s historic victory over Japan.

Facebook was flooded with updates containing such words as “incredible,” “unbelievable,” “dream came true,” and “we made it,” shortly after news broke of the triumph./.
