According to the Hai Phong City Electronic Information Portal, Le Anh Quan, speaking at the event, highlighted RoK as the second-largest investor in Hai Phong by the number of projects, with 186 initiatives, and the leading investor in terms of total registered capital, amounting to 14.2 billion USD. He noted that RoK-invested projects have been highly effective, primarily focusing on high-tech products, which have enhanced local enterprises' technological and scientific capabilities, boosted export turnover, generated employment, and made significant contributions to the city’s budget.

Le Anh Quan reaffirmed Hai Phong’s appreciation for the business community, particularly Korean enterprises, for their active role in the city’s development. He emphasized the city’s commitment to providing a supportive environment, ensuring that foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises can confidently invest and operate in a long-term, efficient, and sustainable manner.

Looking ahead, Hai Phong will continue to enhance the business investment environment by facilitating access to land, credit, human resources, and high-quality labor training. Additionally, the city will bolster support for domestic enterprises, particularly small businesses, helping them build capacity to collaborate with FDI investors, adopt advanced technology, and strengthen partnerships with Korean enterprises.

At the seminar, delegates focused on discussing key groups of content, such as the situation of labor supply for Korean enterprises in Hai Phong; challenges in training skilled technical workers; and strengthening connections between Vietnamese and Korean enterprises in the supporting industry to optimize the supply chain and increase the localization rate.

Seog Myeong Gug, Chairman of the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Hai Phong (KOCHAM) emphasized the importance of strengthening the connection between Vietnamese and Korean enterprises, especially in the supporting supply chain and human resource development. Extensive cooperation will help enterprises reduce production costs, improve competitiveness, and expand international markets.

Lee Kyung Hee, Vice Chairman of KOCHAM Hai Phong, proposed many solutions to improve the investment environment, noting the key role of high-quality human resources. He suggested that the city strengthen vocational training according to international standards, develop industrial engineering, automation, artificial intelligence, and expand Korean language and soft skills teaching. He proposed building a joint training program between Vietnamese and Korean educational institutions, including student and lecturer exchanges and internship programs at enterprises.

Nguyen Huu Phu, Director of Thang Long International Solutions Joint Stock Company, said that small and medium-sized enterprises still face difficulties in approaching large enterprises, especially FDI enterprises. Therefore, this discussion is an important first step to promote mutual understanding, creating a foundation for practical and effective cooperation opportunities in the future.
