This annual activity is organized under the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism by the Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts in collaboration with relevant agencies. According to the Organizing Committee, the 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival will feature a series of hands-on activities and engaging art programs for children from October 2 to 5.

Among the highlights is an installation exhibition space recreating the traditional Mid-Autumn atmosphere through colorful festival toys such as lion heads, papier-mâché masks, paper scholars, lanterns, frog drums, cotton swans, and five-fruit trays. This promises to be an unmissable “check-in” spot for visitors to the 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival. In addition, photobooths will provide unique and playful settings for children, such as “Moon Lady’s (Chi Hang) Fashion Shop,” “Moon Boy's (Chu Cuoi) Grocery Store,” and “Secrets of the Mid-Autumn Festival.”
The Organizing Committee has designed a series of creative and interactive activities for children. These include hands-on workshops where children can try their hand at traditional crafts and make their own Mid-Autumn toys, such as shaping and painting ceramics, painting plaster statues, knitting and crocheting, printing folk paintings, braiding handicraft ropes, making scented wax, and crafting dó paper lanterns.

Other activities include circus and variety show performances, sports and physical games, lion and dragon dances, and the “Books and Childhood” reading space where children can enjoy free reading, explore carefully curated books, and nurture their love for reading.
Children and visitors will also have the chance to participate in competitions, including a children’s drawing contest and exhibition on the theme “Mid-Autumn Through My Eyes,” a digital art contest on Mid-Autumn themes, and a fashion design contest titled “Design Costumes for Moon Lady and Moon Boy to Attend the Festival.” Additionally, 12 schools across Hanoi will join in a Mid-Autumn Camp, creating a colorful and meaningful space.

The Organizing Committee also introduces “shared homes” as part of the “Beloved Moon Season” program, where people with disabilities and children with autism are cared for, respected, and given the opportunity to “shine” in their own way. Children will enjoy culinary experiences with their peers with disabilities and take part in leather crafting, bas-relief painting, and fabric collage art. Meaningful gifts will be presented to disadvantaged students who have overcome difficulties to excel in their studies.
The 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival will officially open at 7:30 p.m. on October 2 at the Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts, 2 Hoa Lu Street, Hanoi. Throughout the festival, there will be a variety of special art programs: the art performance “Moonlight Journey,” “Joyful Mid-Autumn Celebration” (October 3); the fashion art show “Crystal Clear” and “Children’s Mid-Autumn Welcome” (October 4); and “Shining Meteors” (October 5).
