Heart transport from Hanoi to Hue saves 15-year-old child
The Vietnam National Coordinating Center for Human Organ Transplantation has announced to successfully perform a heart transplant on a 15-year-old patient.

Deputy director of the Center Nguyen Hoang Phuc said that donor of the heart in Hanoi is a young man whoes brain was dead from an accident. His relative agreed to donate his organs to save others.
The Center was quick to connect with other hospitals to find out the most suitable recipient. The heart was transported to save a patient kid in the General Hospital in Thua Thien – Hue.
Surgeons, on June 14th morning, performed a heart transplantation on a 15-year-old boy having heart failure at the final stage. The kid had been hospitalized for many times in critical condition.
The kid recovered in the next morning under close observation in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
To carry out the transplantation, hospital director Professor Pham Nhu Hiep who attended the National Assembly’s session asked for permission to quit for the transplantation. He directly transported the heart to the hospital along with his colleagues and instructed the operation./.
