Ho Chi Minh City Celebrates Vietnam-Hungary Friendship

Speaking at the event, Le Minh Triet, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam-Hungary Friendship Association, said that the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary have been maintained and developed for nearly eight decades since the two countries established diplomatic relations, becoming a valuable asset of the peoples of both countries.
Since the two countries upgraded their ties to a Comprehensive Partnership in 2018, Vietnam-Hungary relations have developed strongly in such areas as the economy and education and training. There remains significant potential for cooperation in areas where the two countries can complement each other, including the food industry, agricultural products, water management and supply, the pharmaceutical industry, medical equipment, information and communications technology, and environmental protection.
The leadership of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam-Hungary Friendship Association expressed its sincere appreciation to the Consulate General of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City for its continued support and close cooperation in people-to-people diplomacy activities. Such efforts have contributed to nurturing, strengthening and developing the positive relations between the people of Ho Chi Minh City in particular, the Vietnamese people in general, and the Hungarian people, as well as the Comprehensive Partnership between Vietnam and Hungary.

Expressing her appreciation to the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations for organizing the meaningful event, Dr. Hidasi Eszter, Deputy Consul General of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City, shared the significance of Hungary’s nation-founding day 934 years ago. She emphasized that August 20 is a particularly significant holiday for the Hungarian people, commemorating the founding of the Hungarian state, an event of paramount importance in Hungary’s history.
On behalf of the Consulate General of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City, Dr. Hidasi Eszter expressed her sincere appreciation for the efforts of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam-Hungary Friendship Association in maintaining the friendship between the two countries. Over the past decades, the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam–Hungary Friendship Association has organized events related to Hungary and actively contributed to promoting Hungary’s cultural and scientific achievements, thereby helping strengthen and develop the strong friendship between the Hungarian and Vietnamese peoples in general and between the Hungarian people and the people of Ho Chi Minh City in particular.
The Vietnam-Hungary Friendship Association held a Friendship Gathering on September 14 in Hanoi to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Hungary and the 35th anniversary of the Association’s founding. The event was attended by Hungarian Ambassador to Vietnam Tibor Baloghdi, Vice President of the Hungary - Vietnam Friendship Association Varaljai Marton, and around 500 members, reaffirming the close and enduring relationship between the peoples of the two countries. |
The State of Hungary has awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary to Prof. Dr.Sc. Vu Hoang Linh, President of the Vietnam - Hungary Friendship Association, in recognition of his enduring contributions to promoting scientific and educational cooperation, as well as strengthening people-to-people friendship between Vietnam and Hungary. |
