Japanese enterprises upbeat about new economic milestones with VN
Viet Nam and Japan should promote mutual understanding and trust via high-ranking visits and regular business contacts.
The Japanese businesses made the point on the threshold of PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc to Japan from June 4-8.
They suggested Viet Nam improve the investment and business environment and create favorable ways for businesses.
The number of Japanese investors in Viet Nam rose from 26 in 1992 to 1,650 in 2017, forming one of the largest business communities of Japan in a foreign country.
The Japanese investors have engaged in perse fields, from processing to IT, human resources exchanges, transport, and capital investment.
Japanese SMEs are increasingly interested in the auxiliary industries in Viet Nam.
In addition, the two countries owned potentials for high-tech farming. In Japan, around 2 million people involved in agricultural production with an average age of over 65.
Thus, high-tech farming cooperation with Viet Nam would help Japan offset the lack of manpower, said a leader of the Japanese Business Association in Viet Nam.
Japanese enterprises also hoped that the supplementary cooperation of technology and skill and abundant manpower would be effective. They also expected specific policies of the Vietnamese Government especially in land, tax, and export.
As schedule, PM Phuc will spend two hours to attend the Viet Nam-Japan Economic Forum under the motto “Towards a new era of Viet Nam-Japan relations.” The event will attract 1,500 delegates including 1,300 Japanese groups and companies and 100 Vietnamese peers./.
