Vietnamese paragliders Ngo Xuan Truong and Nguyen Cong Anh came second and third, respectively.
The Hanoi Club took the lead in the team rankings, followed by the Sai Gon Club.
The event attracted nearly 100 paragliders of 16 clubs from 10 countries including the UK, Thailand, Australia, Laos, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.
Pilots took off from Thoi Loi Mountain, 170m above sea level, and landed on the runaway of Ly Son heliport.
This is the first time Quang Ngai province has hosted a paragliding event on Ly Son island. It was aimed at promoting the island's culture and tourism.
The tournament, which was organised by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism with technical support from the Hanoi Paragliding Club, was part of the activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of the province.
