100 years ago, President Ho Chi Minh came and worked at the Carlton Hotel. To show respect for him, the Anglo-Vietnamese Friendship Association and British friends of Vietnam put up a blue plague which reads “Ho Chi Minh (1890-1969) – founder of modern Vietnam – worked in 1913 at the Carton Hotel which stood on this site”.
National Assembly Chairman Hue and his entourage offered flowers and spent a minute of silence in memory of the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people, the national liberation hero, and world cultural celebrity.
