Naval Region 5 Actively Participates in “Phu Quoc Environment Day”

Amid the joyful atmosphere of the first days of the Lunar New Year (the first day of Tet Binh Ngo 2026), in Bac Cam Ranh Ward, Khanh Hoa Province, officers and soldiers of Naval Region 4 organized a wide range of meaningful and practical activities, creating a vibrant spirit of emulation from the very beginning of spring. From the mainland to the remote islands, the New Year was welcomed in a warm and cheerful atmosphere while maintaining a high level of combat readiness. Units strictly upheld duty regulations, including command duty, combat readiness duty, air defense duty, patrols, and guard shifts, ensuring absolute safety in all aspects.

The People’s Committee of Lam Dong Province has fully handled all cases of fishing vessels that violated regulations by losing connection to their vessel monitoring systems, achieving a 100% resolution rate. This outcome was recognized by an inspection delegation from the Ministry of Justice as a clear improvement in the province’s efforts to combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Strictly implementing directives from the central authorities and the province, efforts to prevent and combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing in association with sustainable fisheries development in Quang Ninh have achieved many positive results in recent times, creating clear improvements in fisheries management.

A working delegation of the Ministry of National Defense Steering Committee on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, led by Colonel Bui Yen Tinh, Deputy Director of the Operations Department (General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army), conducted an on-site inspection of IUU prevention and control in Quang Ngai province on February 7.
