PM: curb inflation, boost growth
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked ministries and agencies to put more effort in keeping inflation rate below 4% and achieve growth of 6.7% for 2017, as called for by the National Assembly.
These are the two important and closely intertwined tasks, the PM said on February at a regular government meeting.
He also assigned Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue to work with the State Bank of Vietnam, the Ministry of Finance and other related ministries to work on possible scenarios to ensure inflation will not exceed 4%.

Besides, the government leader asked the central bank to pursue a flexible monetary policy and ensure credit mainly flow into production.
The PM also requested the Ministry of Planning and Investment to formulate a concrete economic restructuring plan, and urging the Ministry of Industry and Trade take action to promptly deal with the 12 cases of large loss-making projects under its management./.
