Referee Ha Anh Chien’s proffesional career ends
(VNF) - Head of Referees Department under the Vietnam Football Federation, Mr. Nguyen Van Mui, said that referee Ha Anh Chien’s professional career has been ended by his “deadly mistake” in the 9th round of V-League 2016.
The five-member Department has carefully discussed the case via documents and video recording files to conclude the strict punishment, on which four nodded their heads.
In the match between FLC Thanh Hoa and Song Lam Nghe An on May 8th, Mr Ha Anh Chien whistled for a penalty shot in the 87th minute for FLC Thanh Hoa club.
He thought that foreigner player Omar from FLC Thanh Hoa club was forced to slip by his rival Dinh Hoang inside the “11m deadly area”. In fact, Dinh Hoang did not. It happened in the 16m50 area. And, in injury time Senegalese striker Pape Omar Fayer successfully leveled the scores 2-2.
Ngo Quang Truong, head coach Song Lam Nghe An, lost control and demonstrated his anger, even getting a red card.
Right after ending the game, Hanoi-born referee Ha Anh Chien expressed his regret to Song Lam Nghe An football club and fans, saying that his decision “strongly destroyed” the game.
However, the final decision is still waiting for approval from the Vietnam Football Federation./.
