Fifty years ago today, on May 19, 1975, Mexico and Vietnam established diplomatic relations.

The Institute for European and American Studies under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, in coordination with the Embassy of Mexico in Vietnam, held an international conference titled “50 Years of Vietnam - Mexico Relations: Current Status and Prospects.”

This announcement was made by Mexican Ambassador to Vietnam, Alejandro Negrín Munoz, during a working session with Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh, on April 8 in Hanoi.

A photo exhibition themed “Vietnam – Attraction and Dynamism” is underway in Mexico City, featuring a strong and beautiful nation of Vietnam.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Nguyen Hoanh Nam paid a working visit to Oaxaca state of Mexico from February 14 - 17 to seek cooperation opportunities between Vietnam and Mexico in general and the state in particular.

This was a major point highlighted by the Ambassador of Vietnam to Mexico Nguyen Hoanh Nam in his work visit to the state of Jalisco, Mexico, in late July.
