As Viet Nam steps up the implementation of its economic diplomacy strategy to support national development, people-to-people diplomacy has undergone significant changes, effectively contributing to the country’s socio-economic development programs.

Going beyond providing living support and helping Cambodian students adapt to the culture and lifestyle of Vietnamese families during their years of study in Viet Nam, sponsorship activities are increasingly being viewed by many individuals, businesses, and collectives of the Viet Nam-Cambodia Friendship Association in a broader sense: linking real-life experience, career orientation, and long-term companionship as the students grow into adulthood.

On December 21 in Hanoi, the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association held a ceremony to formalize the sponsorship of Cambodian students for 2025 who are currently studying at several universities in northern Vietnam. The initiative continues to strengthen the humanistic foundation and deepen the traditional friendship between the peoples of the two countries through education and training.

On November 6 in Hanoi, a delegation from the Central Committee of the Vietnam–Cambodia Friendship Association, led by Standing Vice President Le Van Tuy, paid a visit to the Embassy of Cambodia in Vietnam to extend congratulations on the 72nd anniversary of Cambodia’s National Day (November 9, 1953 – November 9, 2025).

On May 27, speaking at the Congress of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association in Can Tho City for the term of 2023-2028, Vice Chairman of Central Committee of the Association Tran Tan Ngo suggested that the Congress continue to work on "Sowing seeds of friendship," considering this as an important task in the activities of the Association in the locality.

A Vietnamese delegation paid a visit to Cambodia to cement the bilateral friendship and people-to-people exchange, amid the celebration of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
