On May 30, dozens of policemen of Yen Dung district and other forces went down to the fields to harvest nearly 3 tons of watermelons and transport them for consumption to help people quarantined against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, Vietnam shut down much of its trade with China, leading to a surplus of export-bound agricultural products, including dragon fruit, watermelon, durian, etc. Many solutions have been put forward by companies, restaurants, bakeries to improve the situation of spontaneous agricultural product rescue.

The Embassy of Kuwait has purchased two tonnes of watermelon to help farmers in Vietnam’s Bang Giang province as the Vietnam’s agricultural exports are facing difficulties due to the acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-2019).

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Hanoi has provided much needed relief for farmers in Vietnam’s central region by purchasing four tonnes of un-consumed watermelon due to the impact of acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), announced the embassy on Monday (Feb 10).
