Contrary to the bustling atmosphere during the previous Tet holidays, the Tan Son Nhat Airport’s international terminal this year has stayed still as the Vietnamese abroad cannot return to the country due to the Covid-19 epidemic, Thanh Nien reported.

A security staff at Tan Son Nhat Airport said that each day the airport only conducts 1-2 flights bringing Vietnamese citizens home with 20-30 passengers each. Thus, the number of employees is cut down or transferred to do other tasks.

The number of check-in counters has reduced to 2 from the original 20. Inside the terminal is only several passengers, mainly employees. Eateries and cafes also close or open without customers.

Before entering the international terminal, passengers are required to wash their hands with sanitizers and had their body temperatures checked. The process of doing flying procedures, health declaration, and security checks are all quick and convenient.
