WPC President Pallab Sengupta: "Vietnam Feels Like Homecoming"
New Milestone in World Peace Council History

Delivering the opening remarks, Phan Anh Son, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, expressed his hope that the delegates, with a strong sense of responsibility, would offer heartfelt, useful, practical, and effective opinions on the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress. He particularly emphasized contributions that would further promote the strength of the people, the great national unity bloc, and international solidarity in the new context, while underscoring the role of people-to-people diplomacy, coordination measures, and resource conditions necessary to ensure that the three pillars of external affairs jointly fulfill foreign policy objectives alongside national defense and security.

The 14th National Party Congress is an important political event for the country. Its scope and historical significance mark a major milestone in the nation’s development path - a new historic starting point, a new era, and a period of national advancement following 40 years of Doi Moi (renewal).

Fulfilling the functions and tasks of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, the delegates discussed and contributed opinions to the draft documents for the 14th National Party Congress section by section. Discussions focused on three main topics: contributions to the group of contents related to external affairs and international integration in the draft documents; contributions to the group of contents concerning the development of economic institutions and economic integration; and contributions to issues related to institutional development, improvement of the legal system, and building a socialist rule-of-law state.
