In the center of Hoi An ancient town, Phap Bao pagoda is beautifully decorated with bold Buddhist colors. From the afternoon, thousands of monks and nuns, Buddhists, residents and tourists gathered here to pray, creating a cozy festive atmosphere.
Not only the local people and tourists but also the large number of Western tourists come here to study Buddhism.
Lanterns are released on the river to pray for peace and good luck.
Vesak was recognized by UNESCO as International Religion Day – the recognition of Buddhism as a culture that influences human life. Vesak is an important religious festival in Buddhism in particular, festival of peace for community in general.
