Tourists interested in Vietnam ‘ao dai’ tailored in 1 hour

Ms. Itano Makoto (36 years old, Japan) enjoys wearing the Vietnamese traditional dress which has just been sewn in Han market, Da Nang city. “I chose the fabric and brought it here. After only one hour, my dress was finished. Vietnamese traditional dress is very beautiful.’
Small traders in Han market said from 2017 to now, the number of tourists wanting to buy “instant ao dai’’ increases significantly, especially tourists from Korea, Japan. The cost to own a dress is not too high, only VND 300,000-350,000.
Ms. Tran Thuy Kieu, a trader at Han market, said that at the peak of the tourist season (from April to August), she sews about 30-40 sets of ‘ao dai’ per day, with the price ranging from VND 320,000 / set for children and VND350,000 VND set for adults.
Ms. Kieu said that Korean customers often prefer blue, black and some patterns embroidered.
Phan Thi Bich Xuan, the owner of Quyen tailor, said that to serve the demand of tourists, especially in peak season, she had to hire two more tailors.
"Normally I finish 1-2 sets of ao dai in about 1 hour. Although fast but we always ensure the quality of products’’.
The introduction and development of ‘instant ao dai’ not only increase the income but also contribute to create an attractive destination for tourists to Da Nang city, contributing to promote the value of Vietnamese traditional culture./.
