In December 2025 alone, international arrivals to Vietnam exceeded 2 million, up nearly 16% year on year, making a significant contribution to setting a new annual record.

Asia remains the key source market
By market, Asia continued to be the largest source region, accounting for nearly 80% of total international arrivals to Vietnam. China led the way with more than 5.2 million visitors, followed by the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China), the United States, Japan and India. Most key markets recorded positive growth compared to 2024.
In terms of entry modes, air travel dominated, accounting for over 84% of total international arrivals, equivalent to about 17.8 million visitors, an increase of more than 20% year on year. Arrivals by land and sea also maintained steady growth.
A key driver of economic growth
The strong rebound in international tourism made a positive contribution to overall economic growth in 2025. The services sector posted high growth, with revenues from accommodation, food services and travel all recording double-digit increases compared to 2024.
According to tourism experts, these results were driven by more open visa policies, the strong recovery of international flight routes, and efforts by Vietnam’s tourism sector to innovate products, promote destinations and improve service quality.
The fact that international arrivals to Vietnam set a new record in 2025 not only affirms the country’s appeal on the global tourism map, but also provides an important foundation for the tourism sector to pursue higher goals in the coming years, contributing more effectively to economic growth and the promotion of the national image.
