Following the inaugural week, the tourism stimulus program will continue from September 6 through the end of this year, offering a 15% discount on outbound tickets and an additional 10% discount for passengers purchasing return tickets. Notably, holders of heritage train tickets will also be entitled to discounts of 5-15% at selected travel agencies, restaurants and accommodation establishments in Quang Tri province, among other locations.
The heritage trains operate daily on a fixed schedule. HQ2 departs from Hue Station at 7:15 a.m. and is scheduled to arrive at the final station, Tho Loc (Phong Nha), at 11:55 a.m. In the opposite direction, HQ1 departs from Tho Loc Station at 1:15 p.m. and completes its journey at Hue Station at 5:25 p.m.
Passengers can book tickets via the Vietnam Railways website or the dedicated website “Journey to Wonders - World Heritage Sites”.
What sets the HQ1/HQ2 pair apart from previous luxury trains is their design, which combines modernity with the distinctive cultural identity of central Vietnam. The trains are equipped with flexible rotating seats, allowing passengers to easily change their seating direction and fully enjoy the stunning natural scenery along the route. The VIP carriage features an elegant and luxurious interior designed to ensure privacy, with 24 seats.
The community carriage is dedicated to folk music performances, local cuisine and stalls showcasing regional specialties that meet OCOP standards. Notably, for the first time, Vietnam Railways has introduced a multifunctional entertainment carriage equipped with a full range of amenities, including a cinema, massage chairs, a traditional ao dai rental area for photo check-ins, and an express premium suit tailoring service.
During the inaugural week, passengers can also prepare local specialties themselves under the guidance of culinary artisans, while taking part in interactive mini-games for a chance to win valuable souvenirs.
The heritage train journey spans approximately 190 km, passing through famous destinations in central Vietnam and calling at Hue, Dong Ha, My Trach, Dong Hoi and Tho Loc stations. With a travel time of more than four hours, the journey offers an in-depth exploration of the region’s cultural and historical heritage, combined with premium services.
On the occasion of Vietnam's National Day on September 2, residents and visitors to Hue and Da Nang will be able to explore historical and cultural sites free of charge, enjoy the Hue international music festival, and take part in a wide range of cultural, artistic and experiential tourism activities in Da Nang. |
