"Vietnam-Australia to sing the song of friendship"
The statement was made by the Sprouse of Australian Governor-General, Linda Hurley, in a visit to Viet Nam National Academy of Music (Hanoi) on April 4. She was accompanied by the Sprouse of Vietnamese State President, Phan Thi Thanh Tam.
In her remark, Linda Hurley expressed her strong belief in the strength of music, saying it brings about happiness to everyone and connects people together. She hopes Vietnam and Australia will continue to build close and cooperative relations, together singing the song of friendship.

The ladies attended several classes, met with Vietnamese alumni in Australia, and watched performances by outstanding artists and lecturers from the Academy.

Linda Hurley and her husband, Governor-General of Australia David Hurley, are on a state visit to Vietnam from April 3 to 6 at the invitation of Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong. The visit is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Australia.

She shows interest in art and music and believes that singing has a positive impact on individuals and communities. Linda Hurley was a member and first patron of "Solid Rock", a service for Catholic women in the military. She joined the choir of St Andrew's Church in Canberra and was a member of the Australian Army Ladies' Choir.
