Vietnam Commits to Accompanying World Peace Movements

The 2023 World Conference Against Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs takes place from August 4-9. |
“We strongly believe that we will create together a future of peace, stability, cooperation and prosperity for the region and the world,” the leader said in a message sent to the 2023 World Conference Against Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs in Hiroshima, Japan.
Themed "With the Hibakusha, Let Us Achieve a Nuclear Weapon-free, Peaceful and Just World - for the Future of the Humankind and Our Planet," the conference took place from August 4-9.

The conference is attended by thousands of Japanese delegates and international representatives from the Marshall Islands, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Nepal, the US, Ukraine, Germany, France, Russia, Finland, Canada, the UK, and Vietnam. |
The leader expressed his hope that this year’s conference will call on nations to work together in building a peaceful world on the basis of mutual understanding and respect, as well as the observance of international law, especially the United Nations Charter and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and engage in mutually beneficial cooperation with sincerity, trust, and responsibility.
At the conference, a representative from the Vietnam Peace Committee delivered a speech on Vietnam’s foreign policy, especially its “Four Nos” defence policy - no military alliances, no siding with one country against another, no foreign military bases or using Vietnamese territory to oppose other countries, and no using force or threatening to use force in international relations.

The conference was intended to gather peace movements from Japan and around the world in the struggle to eliminate nuclear weapons. It was attended by thousands of Japanese delegates and international representatives from the Marshall Islands, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Nepal, the US, Ukraine, Germany, France, Russia, Finland, Canada, the UK, and Vietnam.
The rally adopted the “Letter from Hiroshima to the World’s Governments” calling on all national leaders to urgently take action for the abolition of nuclear weapons./.
