(VNF) - The United States Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) relies significantly on the cooperative relationship with the Vietnam Office for Seeking Missing Persons (VNOSMP) in order to conduct its humanitarian mission.

On Monday (Feb. 13^th), DPAA Deputy Director, Brigadier General Mark Spindler met with VNOSMP Director, Ambassador Le Thanh Tung, at the VNOSMP's Ministry of National Defense Office in Hanoi.

At the conclusion of the meeting, VNOSMP presented a prisoner-of-war/missing-in-action (POW/MIA)-related museum artifact to DPAA. In the spirit of breaking with the part and looking to the future, Vietnam has made a gesture of goodwill towards the U.S., by cooperating closely with its U.S. counterpart in addressing this humanitarian issues, he stressed.

Mr. Spindler accepted the artifact and gave special thanks to the people and government of Vietnam.

He thanked VNOSMP for its commitment, dedication, and support of the combined efforts to achieve the fullest possible accounting for U.S. personnel lost during the war./.
