Ho Chi Minh City: "Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Family Day" Strengthens Bonds of Friendship

According to the signed agreement, 14 sets of remains of fallen Vietnamese soldiers were handed over, including 10 recovered in Kirivong District and 4 in Tram Kok District, Takeo Province. These remains will be repatriated to Vietnam for memorial services and burial in accordance with regulations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Le Van Phuoc, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of An Giang Province, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 515, and Head of the Provincial Task Force, expressed deep gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia, as well as the authorities, armed forces, and people of Takeo Province, for their support of Team K93 in the search and recovery of the remains. He also voiced hope that Cambodia would continue to cooperate and provide information to facilitate the ongoing search for the remaining fallen soldiers.

On behalf of Cambodia, Sut Khon, Deputy Governor and Deputy Head of the Task Force of Takeo Province, emphasized that the search, recovery, and repatriation of the remains of fallen soldiers is a profoundly humanitarian endeavor, symbolizing the solidarity and friendship between Cambodia and Vietnam. He commended the dedication of Team K93 and the close coordination between the two provinces over the years, pledging to continue directing relevant agencies, armed forces, and local authorities to cooperate and create favorable conditions to achieve further results in the future.

The reception of 14 sets of remains in Takeo Province marks the initial achievement of the repatriation efforts during the 2025-2026 dry season. This activity contributes to the effective implementation of the 500-day intensive campaign to search for and recover the remains of fallen soldiers, while also reflecting the determination of An Giang Province and Cambodian localities to bring heroic martyrs back to their homeland.
