Vietnam Values Stronger Cooperation with Francophonie Community

At the meeting, Le Hoai Trung affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to cooperation with the Francophonie community and highly appreciates the organization’s role and contributions in promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development worldwide. As an active and responsible member of the Francophonie community, Vietnam will continue contributing to joint efforts to strengthen cooperation among member states.

The minister also briefed the OIF Secretary-General on Vietnam’s notable achievements following the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, as well as its socio-economic development results and foreign policy orientations for the coming period.
The two sides discussed the Francophonie community’s priorities in the near future and measures to promote Vietnam–Francophonie cooperation. Le Hoai Trung suggested that OIF strengthen the pillar of economic cooperation and support enhanced collaboration between Vietnam and other member states in areas such as science and technology, digital transformation, education, culture, and the promotion of French language teaching in Vietnam. Vietnam is also ready to promote bilateral and trilateral cooperation with Francophone countries, particularly in Africa.
For her part, Louise Mushikiwabo congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic development achievements and international integration, while appreciating Vietnam’s role and active contributions to Francophonie activities. She affirmed that OIF wishes to further strengthen cooperation with Vietnam, especially in the fields of education, training, sustainable development, and economic connectivity among member countries.
Both sides also agreed to strengthen coordination in preparing for the 20th Francophonie Summit, scheduled to take place in November 2026 in Cambodia, viewing it as an important opportunity to reinforce solidarity within the Francophonie community, promote peace, and create new momentum for cooperation among member states.
The visit of Secretary-General Louise Mushikiwabo is considered to contribute to strengthening cooperation between Vietnam and the Francophonie community, while promoting Vietnam’s role in multilateral cooperation mechanisms and within the Francophone space.
