The event was attended by Nguyen Thi Thai Binh, Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of Viet Nam in the RoK; Hong Nomi, head of Manse District; National Assembly member Song Ok-ju; representatives of local authorities; members of the Vietnamese community; and a large number of local residents.
One of the festival's highlights was a Vietnamese spring roll-making experience in which delegates took part directly. Familiar ingredients, including fresh vegetables, rice paper and colorful fillings, were combined to create the traditional dish, allowing participants to experience the distinctive features of Vietnamese cuisine firsthand.
The Vietnamese community in Hwaseong also introduced a variety of traditional dishes and cultural activities. Visitors had the opportunity to experience bamboo pole dancing, interact with Vietnamese people and learn more about Viet Nam's daily life and customs.
Speaking at the event, Hong Nomi said the festival provided a space for different cultures to meet, interact and better understand one another through food. She noted that Hwaseong would continue working toward becoming an inclusive city where diverse cultural communities could live together, while also bringing greater vitality to local commerce and community life.
