The two provinces of Quang Binh and Savannakhet have maintained annual conferences and good cooperation in the fields of defense, security, and their shared border. The two provinces have strengthened the legal propagation, dissemination, and education of border officials and people.
Governments at all levels of the two provinces have drafted a number of policies and measures to invest in infrastructure, socio-economic development, hunger eradication, and poverty alleviation in the border areas, contributing to the improvement of people's quality of life in the border areas.
Accordingly, the two sides discussed and agreed to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in the coming time, which will highlight the close, regular, and effective cooperation between administrations and border management and protection forces; the propagation and mobilisation of people to actively participate in the protection of borderlines and landmarks, raising a sense of vigilance and actively preventing and denouncing crimes in the border regions./.
