18 scholarships were awarded to students from Tan An, Dat Mui, and Phan Ngoc Hien communes, with a total value of VND 37.25 million. The support levels were set at VND 1 million per scholarship for primary school students, VND 1.25 million for junior high school students, VND 1.5 million for high school students, and VND 13 million for university students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Do Thi Dao, Executive Director of VNSF in Vietnam, emphasized that the scholarships not only help cover educational expenses but also serve as an important source of encouragement, motivating students to overcome challenges and strive for success.
On behalf of the recipients, Nguyen Kim Tuyen, a 9A class student at Bong Van Dia Junior High School, expressed sincere gratitude to the organization and pledged to study diligently and train responsibly.
The Vietnam Scholarship Foundation (VNSF), a non-governmental organization established in 2002 in the United States by Nguyen Van Tam, is dedicated to supporting disadvantaged yet academically talented students in Vietnam. Operating on the principle of direct scholarship provision, VNSF carefully assesses each student’s circumstances before granting support. Eligible students may continue receiving scholarships until they complete their university education, provided they maintain academic standards.
The activities in Ca Mau highlight effective collaboration between friendship organizations and foreign non-governmental organizations in Vietnam’s education sector, contributing to promoting people-to-people exchanges and the spread of humanitarian values.
