Leaders of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and a number of related units, as well as 169 officers and employees of the 4th Engineer Corps presented at the ceremony.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the collective of officials and employees of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, Major General Pham Manh Thang, Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department pledged the determination in front of the President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, to always be consistent in political courage, maintain internal unity, and unanimously, overcome all difficulties to complete all tasks entrusted by the Party, State and Army. The Vietnam Peacekeeping Department pledges to conduct practical activities and continue to spread the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's Army in the new period.

At the ceremony of reporting the results of the preparations of the 4th Engineer Corp, Major General Pham Manh Thang, Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, emphasized that UN peacekeeping activities are a major policy of the Party and the State for concretizing the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation and development; diversifying and strengthening international relations.
This is one of the important contents of defense diplomacy, which is both political and diplomatic, and requires military capacity, contributing to improving the country's prestigious position and sharing the image and noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's Army" to international friends.

After more than 11 years of establishment, the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department has constantly grown, gradually matured, participated intensively in many fields, and held many important positions at the United Nations Headquarters and Missions. From the first two officers deployed in 2014 as Liaison Officers, up to now, the Ministry of National Defense has sent nearly 1,100 professional officers and soldiers to participate in UN peacekeeping activities in both individual and unit forms, including 6 Level 2 Field Hospitals, 3 Engineer Corps and more than 140 individual officers.
Over the years, the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department has closely coordinated with agencies and units in recruiting and fostering forces, deploying, managing, commanding and administering all forces of the Vietnam People's Army to participate in UN peacekeeping activities.
It has achieved many positive results, completed their tasks, and ensured absolute safety; recognized by the Party, State and people, and highly appreciated by leaders of the United Nations, commanders of Missions, local authorities and the international community.
