AFV promotes disability incluse communities in Ninh Binh

This is an activity under the project "Promotion of disability incluse and disaster prepared communities", the project is implemented by Aid for social protection program Foundation Vietnam (AFV) and funded by CBM.
At the communication session, participants shared information about the policy of supporting PWDs in Ninh Binh province, the rights of PWDs, sharing the example of PWDs who overcome difficulties right in Nho Quan homeland.
Participants also answered a lot of questions about the policy for PWDs and their family as well as their community to support them better. Besides, a number of PWDs also shared their experiences of overcoming difficulites to intergrate and transcend circumstances to improve their economic life and help other disadvantaged people.
The second phase of the project “Promotion of disability inclusive and disaster prepared communities in Nho Quan” was launched at the People Committee of Nho Quan District on April 25.
The second phase of the project will be implemented in 4 years with the target as people with disability and their community will integrate and adapt better with climate change and hazardous’ impacts. The project will inclusively connect and contribute to CBM’s initiative about Community Based Initiatives Development (CBID) aiming at Integrated and participatory community provides equal access for people with disability living in poverty; Local authorities and other support service systems effectively participate; Community disaster preparedness.
Aid for social protection program Foundation Vietnam (AFV) is a non-profit organisation operated under the permit of Vietnamese law. AFV works to eradicate hunger, reduce poverty, create more employment opportunities and implement community development programmes to support the poor, the disable, vulnerable people, especially poor, ethnic minority women and children in Vietnam./.
