Ambassador Knapper: US Will Continue to Accompany Vietnam in Strategic Goals

	Ambassador Marc Knapper Highlights Vietnam’s Active Role in Strengthening Bilateral Relations
	New Milestone in Vietnam-US Cooperation on Identifying War Martyrs’ Remains

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the meeting, Acting Minister Le Hoai Trung affirmed that Vietnam always regards the United States as a partner of strategic importance and highly values the substantive progress in bilateral relations since the two countries elevated their ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2023. Both sides have strengthened contact and delegation exchanges at all levels. Economic, trade, and investment cooperation continues to develop steadily, and the two sides maintain regular dialogue on reciprocal taxation issues. Security and defense relations, as well as war legacy remediation, have also made significant progress.

Acting Minister Le Hoai Trung acknowledged the close coordination between the US Embassy in Hanoi and the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as Ambassador Knapper’s role in promoting Vietnam-US relations in a deeper and more practical manner that benefits the people of both countries. He proposed that the two sides continue close cooperation to effectively implement the agenda agreed upon by senior leaders and other levels of the two countries.

Ambassador Marc Knapper expressed his pleasure at the continued strong momentum of bilateral relations as the two countries mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations. The Ambassador appreciated the outcomes of exchanges between General Secretary To Lam and President Donald Trump, thanked the Vietnamese Government and ministries for their attention to promoting bilateral cooperation, and reaffirmed the commitment to fully implementing international trade agreements while prioritizing a favorable environment for US businesses to invest in Vietnam.

The Ambassador affirmed that the United States will continue to accompany Vietnam in achieving its strategic growth goals, particularly in high-tech and science sectors, while also promoting cooperation in other pillars such as war legacy remediation, education, healthcare, and combating transnational crime.
