Le Thanh Long's Biography

Le Thanh Long was born on September 23, 1963 as a native citizen of Quang Xuong district, Thanh Hoa province.

He completed PhD in Laws. Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long joined the Communist Party of Vietnam on April 6, 1991 and became an official member on July 2, 1992.

Positions & Working History

Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long was a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam: 12th tenure. He served as Deputy to the National Assembly of the 14th tenure, cited VGP.

November, 1987 – December, 1990: Staff of the Department on International Cooperation under the Ministry of Justice;

December, 1990 – December, 1991: Staff of the Mekong River Commission’s Secretariat (Bangkok, Thailand);

December, 1991 – April, 2003: Staff of the Department on International Cooperation, Secretary of the Justice Minister under the Ministry of Justice; studied MA and PhD abroad;

April, 2003 – December, 2008: Staff, then Deputy Manager of the Department on International Cooperation under the Ministry of Justice;

December, 2008 – October, 2011: Manager of the Department on Common Issues on Law Building, under the Ministry of Justice;

October, 2011 – March, 2014: Deputy Minister of Justice

April, 2014 – September, 2015: Secretary of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee

September, 2015 – April, 2016: Deputy Minister of Justice

April, 2016 – present: Minister of Justice.
